Robert Picardo is a character actor whose career started on the stage, but was given a huge boost by his film debut in Joe Dante’s The Howling. Over the rest of his career, Picardo would continue to play parts in Dante’s films, and made appearences in Explorers, The ‘Burbs, Looney Tunes: Back in Action, Matinee, Gremlins 2: The New Batch, Small Soldiers, and Innerspace. He has also had a prolific career in television, playing roles in such popular shows as ER, The Wonder Years, Home Improvement, Smallville, Castle, Supernatural and, most famously, Star Trek: Voyager. Picardo is a hard-working actor, but one thing I will always appreciate about him is the fact that he never forgets his b-movie roots, as a recent role of his was in the ridiculous Mega-Shark vs. Crocosaurus! Picardo turns 58 today.
