I wonder if the “found footage” sub-genre of horror films has finally run its course. Next year there will be no fewer than 10 “found footage” movies released, and Tape 407 is one of ’em. From the look of this trailer, it’s Lost meets Jurassic Park with a dash of Troll Hunter. Now, I like all of those things, but honestly, I feel like this is already trying too hard to be the next Cloverfield, right down to the “code name” title. I wonder if the minds behind Tape 407 plan on making 406 more movies if this one is successful.
