A man (Guy Pearce) wrongly convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage against the US is offered freedom if he can rescue the president’s daughter (Maggie Grace) from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates.
I can’t be the only person getting a Fight Club vibe from this preview, right?
I don’t know what it is, but the sci-fi action at the end of this trailer for the film Lockout really gets me excited, never mind the fact that the plot is pretty close to that of Taken, one of my favourite Liam Neeson movies of recent years, and Lockout even stars Maggie Grace, who played the kidnapped daughter in Taken, in the same role here! Add Peter Stormare, badass nihilist among other things, and you’ve got a recipe for a potentially awesome science fiction action flick. I hadn’t heard of Lockout until I discovered this trailer, but it looks pretty good, and so I’ll be keeping an eye on it from now on. There’s not much in the preview to base an opinion on, so I’ll file this under “cautious optimism”.
