Before They Were Stars: Jason Segel as “Watermelon Guy” in “Can’t Hardly Wait”

In my opinion, Jason Segel is a national hero right now for doing such a marvelous job at resurrecting the Muppets for a new generation, and the guy’s certainly come a long way since his small debut role as the stoned “Watermelon Guy” in the 1998 teen comedy, Can’t Hardly Wait. It’s quite hilarious to see Segel and his stoner buddy having this conversation about how hot Velma from Scooby-Doo is, considering that he would eventually wind up dating Linda Cardellini, who played Velma in the live-action Scooby-Doo movies!
