Til Schweiger is a German actor, director and producer and, to date, is the German actor who draws the most people to the cinemas. He got his start as the producer of the German crime film Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door, and followed it up with numerous German films which he wrote, directed, and/or acted in, such as Traumschiff Surprise – Periode 1 and Keinohrhasen, as well as performing in numerous American-made movies including SLC Punk!, The Replacement Killers, Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, King Arthur, and The Red Baron. But the role that Schweiger truly embodies, in my mind, is, of course, Hugo Stiglitz in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds. Schweiger is so damn cool in the role that he totally deserves the litte backstory aside that Tarantino gives him. Til Schweiger turns 48 today.
