Before They Were Stars: Eli Roth as an Extra in “Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger IV”

The most thrilling moment for The Back Row in 2011 had to be when I did a “Before They Were Stars” feature on Eli Roth’s early career as a movie extra, and Eli Roth himself actually plugged it on Twitter! While Eli appeared as an extra in such big Hollywood films as The Lost World: Jurassic Park and The Mirror Has Two Faces, he was also more than happy to take small roles in some trashy Troma productions, such as Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger IV, where he is credited as “Beautiful Young Boy”. You can briefly see him at the 0:17 mark of this clip, standing next to Lemmy from Motorhead! Incidentally, even if Eli Roth were not featured, this clip would still be worthy of posting on The Back Row, as in typically tasteful Troma fashion, you get to see an old granny with a walker get her head run over by a car, causing her to lose control of her bodily functions!
