Upside Down is a sci-fi film from director Juan Diego Solanas (making his big debut here) about two worlds with their own gravity that exist side-by-side, and a pair of star-crossed lovers (played by Jim Sturgess and Kirsten Dunst) from these two worlds desperately trying to be together. I’m not sure how excited to get about this one yet, as I love the visuals of the movie, but the story is pretty old hat, and may just be another Romeo and Juliet tale told through an unusual gimmick. Could this just be the end result of a fanboy watching the rotating hallway scene from Inception one too many times? I’m undecided on Upside Down at the moment, but what do you guys think? Will this be worthwhile?
Upside Down doesn’t have a distributor yet, but is slated for a 2012 release.
