Time to Piss Off the Superhero Fans

I’m probably going to alienate some of TBR’s readership here, but I watched this international trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation right after the new trailer for The Amazing Spider-man,and guess which one I liked more? Yup, the G.I. Joe trailer trumped Spidey, and while I’m not exactly proud to admit my preference, I can at least tell you why. The G.I. Joe trailer has energy, enthusiasm, and doesn’t take itself too seriously. It gives me some stuff I haven’t seen before, like friggin’ Cobra Commander in real life with his silvery mask! It even features a more impressive aerial fight scene than anything in the Spidey preview. How did this happen? How did G.I. Joe 2 surprise me more than Spider-man? I even prefer the cast of G.I. Joe: Retaliation more, since it has Jonathan Pryce, Bruce Willis, Ray Park, Ray Stevenson, and The Rock! Don’t get me wrong, I love Emma Stone and Rhys Ifans makes a good villain, but…but…I dunno. Maybe I just have crappy taste. Feel free to call me names in the comments.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation comes out June 29, 2012.
