I was about to write off this trailer for Wanted director Timur Bekmambetov’s latest film Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter as just a basic clone of a film like Van Helsing, where a character with a known name is made into a younger, more badass action hero who fights vampires, but then there was that great clip at the end where Honest Abe smashes a tree to splinters in a single blow, and I was sold. Somehow, the addition of tree-smashing was all it took to get me grinning about this flick. Not the Johnny Cash. Not the slow-motion ass-kicking. Tree-smashing.
