Before They Were Stars: Sacha Baron Cohen Hosts “Pump TV”

Yesterday, I did a “Before They Were Stars” feature on Ryan Seacrest’s early TV gig hosting a show called Gladiators 2000. Given their recent incident together at the Academy Awards, I feel it’s only appropriate to showcase Sacha Baron Cohen starting off his career in a very similar fashion and hosting his own obscure TV show. One of his Cohen’s earliest jobs in British television came in 1995 when he was hired to host a live late-night cable access show called Pump TV. I really can’t find out much information about Pump TV and what exactly it was supposed to be, as the above clip makes it look like a game show while the clip below shows Sacha getting down with a Scottish dancing team. Either way, it looks like it has the production values of Wayne’s World.
