Before becoming a mega-successful wrestling star and transitioning into an equally successful movie star, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson had aspirations of a career in the NFL. Johnson was recruited to play defensive tackle for the Hurricanes at the Univeristy of Miami, but after he failing to make the NFL upon graduation, he had a brief tenure up north in the CFL as part of the Calgary Stampeders. After getting cut from the Stampeders two months into the 1995 season, he would decide to pursue a career in pro wrestling and the man who started out under the name “Flex Kavana” would eventually set the industry on fire. Anyway, in this clip from a Miami Hurricanes game in the early nineties, you get to see an early glimpse of The Rock laying the Smackdown after sacking a member of the opposing team.
