Regular readers of The Back Row know that I’m a very big fan of the Lego video game adaptations of popular franchises. It’s funny, because they’re the kind of ridiculous spinoff that feels like an extremely obvious money grab, but they’re actually extremely entertaining bash-em-up games with good slapstick humour and huge numbers of characters to play as. Lego Batman was a great entry into the Lego video game series, taking everything we love about Batman and giving it the funny Lego treatment, but this trailer for Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes may just be advertising the best Lego game ever made. It’s essentially Batman: Arkham City (my favourite video game of 2011), but in Lego and with Superman and Lex Luthor thrown into the mix. Plus, legendary character actor Clancy Brown is providing Luthor’s voice! This is going to be so good.
Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes comes out summer of 2012.
