The much-anticipated first trailer for Tim Burton’s upcoming adaptation of the cult gothic soap opera Dark Shadows has finally arrived, and it’s not at all what I was expecting. Not that I really know what I was expecting, but it certainly wasn’t an Austin Powers-esque fish-out-of-water story about a centuries-old vampire learning to live in the 70’s. Regardless of my expectations, though, I must admit that this looks pretty fun. It’s campy Tim Burton, and the tone actually reminds me a bit of Mars Attacks! To me that’s a good thing.
