I Guess This Has To Do With The Walking Dead

An untold story following convicted criminal Lee Everett; a man given a second chance at life in a world gone to hell. With danger around every corner, protecting an orphaned girl named Clementine may offer him redemption in a world of true horror. Experience events, meet people and visit locations foreshadowing the story of Deputy Sheriff Rick Grimes in this extension of Robert Kirkman’s award-winning universe.

This is the debut trailer for Telltale Games’ upcoming episodic video game series based on The Walking Dead…well, kinda. It doesn’t feature any of the characters from the comics or the show, and only seems to be set in the same world under the guidance of Robert Kirkman. I’m a bit undecided on this one, because on the one hand, I love zombies, on the other, I think The Walking Dead TV series has become severely flawed. On one hand, I love Telltale Games, on the other, I find their point-and-click adventures to be only half-decent and better vehicles for nostalgia than for gameplay (see also: their Monkey Island, Sam & Max, Jurassic Park, and Back to the Future series). But as I said, I just love zombies so much that I’ll probably play it regardless of its quality. Telltale tends to deliver good story, and hopefully that’s what I’ll get from The Walking Dead game series. This trailer is pretty cool, even if it doesn’t show or tell us much, and with a little luck, the game will be likewise cool.
