Looking at her filmography, I find myself amazed at how quickly Jessica Chastain has risen to fame – and so much of it only happened in the past year! Chastain’s first professional acting role was actually in a 2004 made-for-TV movie adaptation of Dark Shadows (the same source material that Tim Burton is drawing upon for his big-screen adaptation of the cult TV show), but the movie never actually aired. She also appeared in TV series such as ER and Veronica Mars, but she didn’t make her film debut until 2008, when she starred in the film Jolene. She appeared in the movie Stolen Lives in 2009, and an episode of Agatha Christie’s Poirot in 2010…and then came her surge of acclaimed performances! Between 2010 and 2012, she played prominent roles in the films The Debt, Take Shelter, Coriolanus, Wilde Salome, Texas Killing Fields, The Tree of Life, and The Help! Talk about prolific! Even more amazing is that she starred in two Best Picture nominees from 2011! Not bad considering she only turns 32 today!
