Before They Were Stars: Triple H Wrestles His First Professional Match as “Terra Ryzing”

To commemorate Wrestlemania 28 this weekend, I’ve been posting clips of some of WWE’s biggest stars during their earliest days in professional wrestling. Here’s some handheld footage of Triple H’s first professional match, which took place in a high school gym in Burlington, Vermont in November of 1992 when he was only 23 years old. He spent the first few years of his career wrestling under the name “Terra Ryzing” and, shockingly, he did not manage to attain stardom until it was changed. His opponent on this night was some guy named Flying Tony Roy, and Jim Ross and Triple H himself are on hand to deliver some alternate commentary over the match.
