Canadian-born actress Cobie Smulders started her career as a model in 2000, but quickly moved into acting with small roles in TV shows starting in 2001. Some of her earliest work includes appearances on the TV series Jeremiah, Tru Calling, Veritas: The Quest, Smallville, and The L Word, and a role in the Dwayne Johnson remake of Walking Tall. In 2005, she shot to fame thanks to her role as Robin Scherbatsky on the popular TV series How I Met Your Mother, which apparently caught the attention of Joss Whedon, who considered casting her as the titular character in a Wonder Woman film (which never got made), as well as casting her in the upcoming The Avengers! I suspect we’ll be seeing a lot more of Cobie Smulders in the future. But first – let’s go to the mall! Cobie Smulders turns 30 today.
