Before They Were Stars: Bill Paxton in a Pat Benatar Music Video

B-movie legend Roger Corman is renowned for having given some of the biggest directors of all time their start in the film business, such as Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola and James Cameron. He also gave Bill Paxton a very unique start in the business by hiring him to work as a set designer on some of his low-budget exploitation movies. Paxton eventually used this experience to transition into acting and one of his earliest acting jobs was an appearance as a young Nazi officer in this music video for Pat Benatar’s hit 1982 single, “Shadows of the Night”. Also be on the lookout here for Judge Reinhold as a wing-man pilot, who had his breakthrough role in Fast Times at Ridgemont High just before this video came out.
