Celebrity Birthday of the Day – June 4

Sean Pertwee is an English character actor who seems to pop up everywhere – which is great, because I think he always puts in a terrific performance. The son of Jon Pertwee, who played the third Doctor on the series Doctor Who, Sean began his acting career on the stage, touring with the Royal Shakespeare Company for three years. He also co-owned the Natural Nylon film production company with Jude Law, Jonny Lee Miller, and Ewan McGregor. Pertwee began acting in film and television in the 1980s, with early roles including parts on the TV series Agatha Christie’s Poirot, Chancer, Cluedo, The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, and Ruth Rendell Mysteries. In the early 90s he began acting in films more and more, including such movies as Swing Kids, Blue Juice, Event Horizon, Soldier, Love, Honour and Obey, The 51st State, Equilibrium, Dog Soldiers and Doomsday (two Neil Marshall flicks), Mutant Chronicles, and Devil’s Playground. He’s also appeared on the TV shows Cold Feet, Waking the Dead, The Tudors, Honest, and Camelot. Pertwee performs voice work for video games as well, providing vocal talent for games such as Medieval: Total War, Warhammer 40,000: Fire Warrior, Fable II and Fable III. He has over 100 credits to his name, and you can bet that we’ll be seeing more of Sean Pertwee in the very near future. He turns 48 today.
