As I’ve said before when reporting on Tim Burton’s new stop-motion animated feature Frankenweenie, I’m cautiously optimistic, for while Burton’s most recent film Dark Shadows failed to impress me, Frankenweenie harkens far back to young Tim Burton, and in this new trailer alone, I’m seeing callbacks to Vincent, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Ed Wood. If the movie is anywhere near as good as this trailer, I think it could very well be a success.
Frankenweenie comes out October 5, 2012.
