Celebrity Birthday of the Day – August 3

You may not know him by his face, but with over 290 credits to his name, I can guarantee you know Corey Burton’s voice. Burton was inspired to go into voice acting thanks to Walt Disney Pictures, and since getting his start in the early 1980s, he has done loads of voice-a-like work for them, imitating many of their popular characters in new properties such as the Kingdom Hearts video games.

Burton’s body of work is really quite breathtaking, as he’s done voice work on such TV series as The Adventures of the Gummi Bears, G.I. Joe, Transformers, Chip ‘n’ Dale Rescue Rangers, Goof Troop, The Shnookums and Meat Funny Cartoon Show, Aladdin, Freakazoid!, The Powerpuff Girls, Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, Hercules, Sym-Bionic Titan, Batman Beyond, and Samurai Jack, and voiced characters in movies such as Atlantis: The Lost Empire, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Treasure Planet, The A-Team and more! He also got into doing video game voice work very early on, with credits in games like TRON Solar Sailer and Toonstruck. If there was ever a guy who I’d want to leave my outgoing voicemail message, it’d be Corey Burton. He turns 57 today.
