A struggling screenwriter who inadvertently becomes entangled in the Los Angeles criminal underworld after his two oddball friends kidnap a gangster’s beloved Shih Tzu.
After seeing writer/director Martin McDonagh’s awesome movie In Bruges and his likewise dark, bloody and very funny play The Lieutenant of Innishmore, I’ve become a very big fan of the guy’s work, and I’ve been excited for his next film Seven Psychopaths ever since it was announced. I didn’t realize what an awesome cast he has lined up for it, though! Christopher Walken, Sam Rockwell, Woody Harrelson, Colin Farrell…the comparisons people have been making between McDonagh and Tarantino are certainly apt, as I can’t think of any films besides Tarantino flicks that boast such a wicked cast of actors in a story about criminal lowlifes that is at once violent and hilarious.
Seven Psychopaths comes out October 12, 2012.
