Before They Were Stars: 14-Year Old Michelle Williams in “Species”

Today’s “Celebrity Birthday of the Day” spotlight is on Species star Natasha Henstridge, and Gill made sure to point out some opposing career trajectories from that movie. Of course, Henstridge has pretty much faded into obscurity, but in Species, her alien character actually started off as a 12-year old girl before she morphed into a bombshell. Do you recognize that young girl in this trailer? That’s right, it’s none other than Michelle Williams, who was 14 years old at the time and probably had no idea she had three Academy Award nominations in her future. It’s also interesting to ponder that before Species, no one would have ever pictured Sir Ben Kingsley doing a movie like this, but 17 years later, he’s got Thunderbirds, BloodRayne and The Love Guru on his resume.
