Celebrity Birthday of the Day – November 8

Michael Nyqvist is a Swedish actor who is just now breaking into the North American acting scene. He began his acting career in Sweden in a 1982 TV movie called Kamraterna, and the bulk of his career is made up of other Swedish language films and television shows, most notably the series Beck and, more recently, the Swedish adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s Millenium Trilogy in the films The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played With Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets’ Nest and the TV series Millenium (not related to the series starring Lance Henriksen). Since the success of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo in North America and its subsequent remake under David Fincher, Nyqvist has seen his popularity in Hollywood rise and has made the transition to acting primarily in English-language films such as Abduction and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol. He turns 52 today.
