Before They Were Stars: Mary Elizabeth Winstead in “Monster Island”

Mary Elizabeth Winstead has appeared in enough horror films to be a bit of a modern scream queen, but her first brush with the genre was a 2004 made-for-MTV movie called Monster Island, which was intended as a campy spoof of old monster movies. Thankfully, Winstead turns out to be an incarnation of the island’s goddess, so she winds up saving the day… after receiving a motivational speech from none other than Adam West!
