The film follows a washed up former pilot and an untested trainee, who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger, a massive robot designed to fight legions of monstrous creatures known as Kaiju, which started rising from the sea years ago. They stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.
Pacific Rim is like my ultimate movie fantasy realized. Giant robots with GLaDOs from Portal as their AI voice fight giant monsters, and it’s all under the direction of Guillermo Del Toro. I honestly don’t think this movie can possibly disappoint me.
