Before They Were Stars: Sarah Wayne Callies on “Tarzan”

Has any fictional character ever received more grief here at The Back Row than Lori Grimes from The Walking Dead? Well, in fairness to poor Sarah Wayne Callies, it could probably be a lot worse. How about a cop show where Tarzan helps Jane solve crimes? Indeed, her first major role on television was starring in a short-lived series called Tarzan, which ran for only eight episodes on the WB Network in 2003. It’s basically a story of Tarzan running wild through modern-day New York City and Callies plays a detective named Jane, who inevitably becomes attracted to Tarzan after this Cinemax-esque scene where she catches him in the shower.
