Clarence “Buster” Crabbe is the king of all movie serials, and played both Buck Rogers AND Flash Gordon! Crabbe began his career as an Olympic freestlye swimmer and won a gold medal in 1932. The following year he began to appear in movie serials, starting with Tarzan the Fearless and continuing with Flash Gordon serials, Buck Rogers serials, Billy the Kid serials and more. In the early 1950s, Crabbe moved into television acting, and one of his earliest starring TV roles was on Captain Gallant of the Foreign Legion, and he appeared on such shows as The Red Skelton Show and B.J. and the Bear.
