Oscar night is coming up, which means that it’s an exciting time to be a movie critic because we get to examine the films of the past year that a bunch of stuffy old white guys have determined to be the cream of the crop. This year’s spread of Best Picture nominees covers a lot of bases, with serious dramas, adventurous CGI-fests, biopics and even a genre flick making up the candidates for that little gold statue. So, as is the tradition around this time of year, Gill, Robin, and TK look at the nine films making up the Best Picture nominees, give their thoughts on each, and try to predict the winners in the major Academy Award categories.
