Luke is a professional motorcycle rider who turns to bank robberies in order to support his newborn son. But when he crosses paths with a rookie police officer, their violent confrontation spirals into a tense generational feud.
Unlike my previous post about Joseph Kosinski’s Oblivion, I’ve watched these two trailers for The Place Beyond The Pines because the film has yet to hit the marketing-oversaturation point, and thankfully they’re doling out very little new footage with each new preview. I think this film looks like it could be fantastic, and even though the only thing it shares is a star and some crazy driving, it feels very much like a spiritual successor to Drive, which I loved. And it comes out at the end of this week! You can bet I’ll be watching this.
