It’s here! It’s finally here! The first teaser for The World’s End, the latest collaboration between Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright has finally dropped, and it’s a thing of beauty. Now, if you follow the site, you probably know that Robin, TK and I have all marked The World’s End as our most anticipated movie of the year, so it’s really no surprise that I think this looks incredible. But one thing that did surprise me – something that was kept out of the pre-trailer marketing – was the inclusion of what seem to be aliens. Now, I think having the Shaun of the Dead crew go up against an alien invasion is definitely clever and will no doubt make for a great time, but this definitely makes me think that This Is The End – a similar comedy with a similar premise and a similar name – ripped off The World’s End somehow. I dunno, maybe this is just a case like how Olympus Has Fallen shares a premise with White House Down, but man, those are some serious similarities. But there’s no question where my loyalties lie: let’s hit the pub and wait for this whole thing to blow over.
