Celebrity Birthday of the Day – July 2

Actor Ron Silver obtained a kind of legendary status over the course of his career. His film debut was 1976’s Tunnel Vision, and around this time he was also a prolific television actor, appearing on Rhoda, The Rockford Files, and Dear Detective. The 80s and 90s saw Silver in a number of film roles, including parts in The Entity, Romancing the Stone, Oh, God! You Devil, Silent Rage, Mr. Saturday Night, Timecop, and The Arrival. In the 2000s he appeared in the films Ali, Find Me Guilty, and The Ten, and on TV shows such as The West Wing, Law & Order, and Crossing Jordan. But my favourite Ron Silver role will always be in the failed TV pilot Heat Vision & Jack, wherein he plays the villain…Ron Silver. Ron Silver sadly passed away on March 15, 2009, of esophageal cancer. He was 62.
