Sizzle Beach U.S.A. is one of those special films which remains sitting on a shelf for years until one of its actors becomes a huge star, finally prompting the movie to see the light of day. Such was the case with a raunchy 1981 comedy named Malibu Hot Summer, which happened to feature the screen debut of a young Kevin Costner. Lo and behold, once Mr. Costner found stardom, the film was retitled Sizzle Beach U.S.A. and released in 1986. Believe it or not, it was acquired and re-released by Troma Entertainment, and I’m sure Kevin Costner is overjoyed to know that he got his start in a Troma film.
