The 1982 comedy hit, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, is often looked at as the ultimate “Before They Were Stars” movie as it featured a plethora of young actors who had their careers jumpstarted by this film and went on to bigger things. In 1986, CBS aired a short-lived TV series spin-off called Fast Times which only lasted seven episodes and… well, didn’t exactly have the all-star cast that the film did. However, two cast members who did go on to bigger things were Patrick Dempsey, who played the role of Mike Damone, and Courtney Thorne-Smith, who played Stacy Hamilton. Interestingly enough, the top-billed cast member was Claudia Wells, who played Jennifer Parker in Back to the Future, but left the acting business right after this and did not reprise her role in the sequels.
