It’s strange enough seeing a talented, well-known actor performing on a soap opera before they were famous, but it’s especially amusing when they’re not even playing a major character. When you’re a struggling actor and you’re relegated to taking a bit part on a soap, it must really feel like you’re slumming it. Such was the case with Tony Shalhoub, who had a small role as a reporter on an episode of Ryan’s Hope during the late 1980s, a job so obscure that it’s not even listed on his IMDb page.
