In spite of my enjoyment of the independent film Monsters, I can’t say as director Gareth Edwards’ upcoming reimagining of Godzilla was particularly appealing to me…until I saw this trailer. I suppose it speaks to the atrociousness of Roland Emmerich’s attempt at an American Godzilla movie in 1998 that the idea of a new Godzilla movie sounded pretty bad to me, but wow, this trailer just blew me away. After Pacific Rim, I’m totally in the mood for some new, well done giant monster films. 2014 looks to be a cool year for genre cinema!
