Before he was famous, John Goodman did a plethora of commercials in the early 1980s and I’ve already posted a lot of them here at The Back Row. Here’s another one I found from 1981 where a much more slender Goodman endorses Campbell’s Chunky Soup. This commercial is particularly funny for two reasons: 1) Goodman speaks with a really goofy Texas accent and it actually sounds like his voice might have been dubbed over, and 2) Even though the ad is only ten seconds long, you can still see the boom mike drop down into the frame a few times.
