How to Build a Time Machine is a documentary from filmmaker Jay Cheel, whose previous doc Beauty Day chronicled the exploits of Captain Video, a public access stuntman whose antics predated Jackass. Now Cheel is taking a look at the people obsessed with time travel, be it trying to find a way to accomplish the sci-fi task of traveling into the past or just creating a perfect replica of the time machine from the H.G. Wells story. I honestly don’t know whether to expect an interesting documentary about quirky people, or a science fiction story masquerading as a documentary. Only time will tell…
