Realistic Garfield

Garfield. I loved the comic when I was a kid. In fact, I’d go so far as to say that it was the comic that got me interested in comics, and man, in the 80’s, Garfield was everywhere. But now? I don’t get it, man. It’s not especially funny, and the strips are just formula, formula, formula. But I’m certainly thankful for Garfield comics, not only for getting me interested in the medium, but also because of all the awesome parodies that have come as a result. Garfield Minus Garfield is hilarious, but I think this Pete Holmes sketch really sums up the dark truth about Garfield’s owner Jon.
