Before They Were Stars: Richard Kiel on “Gilligan’s Island”

As saddened as I was by Richard Kiel’s passing this week, I’ve had a lot of fun discovering some of the goofy roles he had prior to portraying Jaws in the James Bond series. Yesterday, I showcased an appearance he made as a Frankenstein monster on an episode of The Monkees. Today, I shall feature Kiel’s role on “Ghost-a-Go-Go”, an episode of Gilligan’s Island where he plays a bad guy who dresses up in a ghost in order to scare Gilligan and the rest of the castaways off the island. Um, yeah, I’m pretty sure that whole ghost set-up isn’t necessary. I think those guys would leave voluntarily if you just gave them transportation.
