Before They Were Stars: Colin Firth and Rupert Everett in “Another Country”

Since Kingsman: The Secret Service is still hanging on to the #5 spot at the box office, I thought it was high time that we did a Before They Were Stars feature on Colin Firth. In 1984, Firth made his film debut in a movie called Another Country in 1984. I feel like if this movie were made by a big studio today, it’d stand a good chance of winning an Oscar, as it covers a lot of the Academy’s favourite bases: it’s a biopic about a British spy who is struggling to have his homosexuality accepted. As a bonus, Another Country was also an early starring role for Rupert Everett.
