It was me, James. The author of all your pain.

I was a very big fan of Skyfall, to the point where it may be my favourite James Bond movie. It’s in the top 5, anyway. Skyfall managed to strike the perfect balance between the new Jason Bourne style of spy-action movie and the old, classic James Bond style. It had its serious moments, with the stakes high and Bond broken, but it also had loads of action spectacle, starting with that amazing train sequence at the beginning. From the look of the trailers for Spectre, we’re going to get more of the same goodness in the next Bond flick. Take everything I loved about Skyfall, then replace the villain with Christoph Waltz. I’ll miss Judi Dench, but Ralph Fiennes is a damn good substitute. All in all, I’d say this one looks top notch.

Spectre comes out November 6, 2015.
