Before They Were Stars: Kate Winslet in “Anglo Saxon Attitudes”

As we continue our “Before They Were Stars” features on this year’s Academy Award nominations, we have arrived at recognizing the seventh career nomination for Kate Winslet, who has picked up a nod for Steve Jobs. At age 16, Winslet had one of her earliest roles on a mini-series adaptation of the Angus Wilson novel, Anglo-Saxon Attitudes, and you can tell this clip must be from some British “Before They Were Stars” special since there’s laughter in the background. Even though I don’t have a clip for it, it should also be noted that Anglo Saxon Attitudes also featured an early performance from Daniel Craig, three years before he and Winslet reunited for their unforgettable work alongside the kid from Rookie of the Year in A Kid in King Arthur’s Court.
