We’ve reached our final edition of “Before They Were Stars” for this year’s Academy Award nominees and we’ll cap things off with a first-time nominee: Alicia Vikander, who got a “Best Supporting Actress” nod for The Danish Girl. Vikander’s breakthrough role in her native Sweden occurred in 2008 when she became a full-time cast member on a popular soap opera called Andra Avenyn. There are many episodes of Andra Avenyn available on Youtube, though they’re all in Swedish and have no English subtitles. But, hey, it’s always fun to see a soap opera performer before they transitioned into an Oscar nominee.
