Do androids dream of electric sheep?

Vox has a great writeup on Blade Runner: Autoencoded – a project from Terence Broad wherein Broad used “deep learning” AI algorithms to watch Blade Runner and basically “perceive” the movie. What you see on the right is a reconstruction of Ridley Scott’s movie about artificial intelligences as run through an artificial intelligence. So awesome and accurate was this feat that Warner Bros. actually issued a DMCA takedown notice on something that looked like their film but was in fact a complete reconstruction of it from a computer. The AI fooled Warner Bros. Replicants are among us. And they have great taste in movies.
