I mean, think about it – her job is literally to be pretty, occasionally make a family-friendly joke, and indicate letters on a wall. She’s been doing it for about thirty years now, and probably makes a lot more money than you or I. That’s nothing to scoff at! There’s some serious business saavy at work there, methinks! Wheel of Fortune actually had another hostess named Susan Stafford before Vanna took over in 1982, becoming the show’s regular hostess and daytime hostess as well. In 1983, Vanna’s fame spread, and in 1987, her autobiography titled Vanna Speaks! was a best-seller. She also appeared in Playboy, as she was dating a Playgirl centerfold model. Besides Wheel of Fortune, Vanna has made numerous other television appearances on shows such as The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!, Simon and Simon, Full House, and Married…With Children.
