I’m really excited about this new They Live-meets-Mad Men flick from Russia called Branded. It’s weird and trippy in all the right ways, it has a solid cast (Jeffrey Tambor and Max Von Sydow? I will watch this.), and I really like that while it does resemble They Live pretty closely, it’s still a new story with new twists and tentacles coming out of peoples’ heads. Makes me wonder when Hollywood will realize that they don’t have to remake every movie ever made – they can just take the premises of previous films and repackage them. Anyway, this movie is rapidly climbing towards the top of my “Must-See Movies of 2012” list…and that’s not just because I hate QR codes.
