Before They Were Stars: James Rebhorn on “Guiding Light”

2014 has been pretty a shitty year for celebrity deaths thus far. One of Hollywood’s top character actors/“That Guys” is now gone as James Rebhorn just passed away at the age of 65. Of course, Rebhorn was one of those solid working actors with too many film and television credits to name, but during the early 1980s, he toiled on the soap opera circuit with a recurring role as an abusive stepfather on Guiding Light. Rebhorn was pretty skilled at portraying assholes during his career and this scene from Guiding Light is no exception, as he vindictively tells his stepdaughter’s boyfriend that he’s a bastard child (in addition to an hilariously bad actor!).
