“They’re eating us,” has to be the answer to that question, posed in this new trailer for Eli Roth’s The Green Inferno. I was pretty underwhelmed by the first trailer for the film, but this new one actually brings some tension to the table. These are some scary cannibals, and I like the idea of a bunch of activists falling victim to them. It’s as though Roth is saying that the rainforest can defend itself. He’s wrong, of course, but I don’t look to torture porn directors for profound ideas. I hope this ends with the tribe devouring those loggers that we see. Anyway, I think this new preview looks more promising than the previous one, and evocative of a type of horror film that we don’t really see anymore because it’s quite far from being politically correct. Will it be any good? Your guess is as good as mine.
